The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates closely monitors regulation with regards to transfer students. We highly suggest downloading the recent bulletin for the most up-to-date information. If you are applying as a transfer student from another WHO, IMED listed school, in addition to the above list, the following documents are required.
Transfer credit is not automatic and applicants should not assume that courses taken at other institutions will meet our requirements. Acceptance of credits earned at other schools is subject to verification and level of placement in the program will be determined by the Admissions Committee in consultation with the Promotions Committee. Course assignments are the responsibility of the Promotions Committee and subject to the established schedule of courses at the time of transfer. Applicants must further meet our premed requirements to be eligible for transfer credits. A minimum enrollment of one year is required before an MD degree can be conferred.
Further, credits transferred must be earned within 7 years from the anticipated year of graduation. We currently consider mainland MD/DO credits as equivalent to that of our program, but does not offer transfer credit for course work completed towards chiropractic, podiatry, dentistry, physician assistant or other allied medical programs.
Applicants to the Two Year Premed Program offered in affiliation with Texas A&M University at Commerce must submit additional documents as listed in Pre-Medical Program. Please note that Pre-Med applicants must complete seperate applications to both Texas A&M Commerce and IAU College of Medicine and send required documents to each institution.

All required documents, if originally in a foreign language, must be accompanied by a notarized English translation. All transcripts documenting post-secondary coursework completed in institutions outside the United States must be evaluated by an approved International Credential Evaluation Service.
