Chief Academic Officer's Message

I am pleased to welcome you to the International American University College of Medicine. This College was founded to offer a state of the art curriculum in medical education, using the latest technology and teaching methods, based on the U.S. system, and delivered by an expert and dedicated faculty.

Every medical school has its own unique characteristics, a distinctive personality and goals for the future. The mission of International American University College of Medicine is to provide quality medical education to highly motivated candidates who wish to pursue a medical career. As a physician, I recognize the responsibility to prepare students, both intellectually and emotionally, to meet the challenges of the health care profession in modern times. Our goal is to produce physicians who are continuously seeking the knowledge and expertise required to find treatments and solutions for their patients.

The esteemed faculty of the College of Medicine is selected  from a pool of reputable medical institutions in the United States, Europe and Asia and is dedicated to offering a state of the art medical curriculum that meets all the requirements to enroll in U.S. clinical programs, residencies and obtain a licensure. We are also aware that many students are keen to practice in other developing countries. In this era of globalization, a well-rounded medical education is essential for every physician. The integrated curriculum provides excellent preparation in the basic and clinical sciences both on the St. Lucia campus as well as in United States teaching hospitals. The curriculum is designed to prepare the student to pass the U.S. licensure examinations as well as PLAB and other similar exams offered by other countries.

The M.D. program of the College of Medicine will prepare you to become a competent and effective physician, utilizing the latest advances in clinical practice. We encourage all physicians to uphold the humane values of the profession, including compassion, service and respect for life.

The Affiliation with Texas A&M University has made it possible for US students to complete the prerequisites for medical education in just two years. It has also given aspiring students from outside the United States to achieve the same excellence in medical education and obtain an MD degree in six years. 

As the Chief Academic Officer, I would like to assure everyone that the education we offer is comparable to that of any U.S. medical school and will confer a credible Doctor of Medicine degree making you eligible to practice in most of the states in the US. As the Chief Academic Officer, I vow to maintain the highest morals and ethics in our students through constant supervision and assistance.
