Q1. As a Graduate of IAU, will I be able to practice medicine in the US?
A. Yes you will be able to practice in the US. IAU is recognized by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) which grants you the right to take all three steps of the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), which must be passed to become a practicing physician in the U.S.
IAU is listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED). This is an accurate and up-to-date compilation of International Medical Schools recognized by the appropriate government agency in the medical schools respective country. Recognition by the ECFMG depends directly on whether or not the school is listed in this directory.
IAU is also listed in the Avicenna Directories which will be successor to WHO's World Directory of Medical Schools. IAU satisfies all levels of credentialing necessary for US & Canadian Licensure, including publication in the unreleased global database compiled by the University of Copenhagen.

A. IAU Housing Department staff works closely with students to select housing. Housing department helps students find housing near the main campus and extends support that fosters a positive off campus living experience.

Q6. Is it easy to travel to and from St Lucia?
A. Yes, you can reach St. Lucia directly by air from San Juan (Puerto Rico), Miami (Florida), Antigua, St. Marten, and Barbados. Most of the major airlines including American Airlines offer non stop flights from US to St Lucia.

Q7. Will I need a Visa to live in St Lucia?
A. Yes you need visa; IAU campus will process the paperwork and help you get the necessary visa for the duration of your stay on the island. Please contact the Dallas Office for information regarding visas for visiting family or friends.

Q8. Does IAU have 100% Placement for Clinical Rotations?
A. Yes, Students have to pass USMLE Step 1 to start Clinical Rotation.

Q9. Where are the clinical sites or clinical rotations being held?
A. Clinical rotations are held at various US teaching hospitals which are approved by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)

Q10. Does IAU offer Green book rotations?
A. Yes, students can do all core rotations in Green Book Hospitals

Q11. Where is the Premed Program Offered?
A. IAU is affiliated with Texas A&M University at Commerce to offer the Premed program. Commerce is located in Hunt County of Northeast Texas (Central America), 14 Miles away from city of Greenville and 65 miles away from northeast of Dallas.

Q12. What is the duration of the Premed program?
A. Students are required to complete 90 credit hours of premed to transfer to the IAU 4 year MD program. 90 credits can be completed over a period of six semesters (2 years)
